The Paper Cranes are a husband and wife indie-pop band from Victoria, British Columbia whose specialty is crafting infectiously melodic pop songs with heart-wrenching lyrics that make you want to dance until you pass out and cry into your pillow at the very same time. The music draws from a variety of influences from 60's Motown to 80's post-punk and has been compared to The Smiths, Elvis Costello, The Jam and The Cure as well as current Canadian indie rock darlings, The Arcade Fire and though these influences can be heard in The Cranes' music their songs still remain refreshingly unique.
"If you're not afraid to admit your favourite Cure song was `Love Cats'; if you think Paul Weller hasn't written a classic song since `A Town Called Malice'; or if your favourite part of Funeral is the last minute of `Wake Up' where the Arcade Fire go all northern soul, then the Paper Cranes could be your new favourite band." - Pitchfork Media
"This year's (The Paper Cranes') Halcyon Days LP seems as timeless and effortless as a Spoon record, with enough new wave bounce to make Elvis Costello smile." - Chart Attack
